Its accessory zipper is perhaps its most distinguishing trait but this feature is compromised by durability concerns. If you're on a budget, the Marmot Hydrogen should be on your radar. The Marmot Hydrogen is the quintessential ultralight down sleeping bag, dating back almost to the beginning of ultralight backpacking's popularity. The original Hydrogen had a half-length zipper and 10 ounces of 800 fill power down - which was state of the art at the time - and weighed 24 ounces.

The 30 degree Marmot Hydrogen seemed to fit the bill. On two different nights it got down to about 37 degrees and it was a cold night's sleep. On the Marmot website they rate the bag for 39.2 degrees for a comfortable night's sleep, 30 degrees at the lower limit. While I would have made it at 30 degrees, it would have not been a good night's sleep.
